On May 10th, we traveled from Bryce to Green River, UT. We wanted to stay in Moab, but back in March when I was planning the trip, there were no suitable RV parks available. Moab is a big recreational area for off-roading, river rafting, and other outdoor activities and it books up early. Staying in Green River left us with a 100-mile round trip each day to the National Parks.
Arches is beautiful and focuses on, what else, arches. We usually start our tour of a park at the visitor center and there is often an orientation film. The film at Arches stated there are over 2,000 arches in the park. Well, that probably includes arches that are only big enough for a matchbox car to drive through, but there were still plenty of "full-size arches" as well.
We ended our Arches day by exploring Moab and eating a good Mexican diner.
Okay, here are too many "rocky" pictures:

The Park Avenue apartments |
I need water! ... I think it is too late. |
|
The paddle wheeler |
It took me a long time to balance that rock up there! I hope nobody comes along and knocks it down. |
|
Devil's Garden Trail. Such a lonely trail. Just us and a few of our friends.
It was very windy with wind racing through the tight canyon openings. Hold on to your hat! |
Tunnel Arch ... Or is it a portal to another galaxy? |
|
Cactus??? I came all the way here to see cactus? |
Okay, at least this cactus has a flower on it. |
|
At the end of the trail (or at least as far as I went) Landscape Arch. |
Another one desperately in need of a drink. |
|
Delicate Arch Hike. We took this hike to get this close to Delicate Arch. |
Double Arch ... short hike, interesting arch. |
