Our Pacific Northwest Adventure

The Burgoyne Travels

Summer 2024

Winter was WET. Summer is VERY HOT. We are headed to the Pacific Northwest to cool off!

Our Plan

We're leaving on August 10th and returning home on August 30th. While we've explored Portland and Seattle in previous years, this time we're focusing on new adventures. Our itinerary includes Medford, the Rogue River, Crater Lake National Park, Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Saint Helens, Olympic National Park, and a 4-night stay in Victoria, BC.

We'll take the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria and stay at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel. In Victoria, we'll enjoy High Tea at the Fairmont Empress, tour the city, and go whale watching.

After Victoria, we'll ferry back to Port Angeles and head to North Cascades National Park, including a day trip to Stehekin on the Cascade Flyer. Then it's off to Mount Rainier National Park (where we now have mandatory reservations to enter the National Park, what?).

Reluctantly, we'll start our journey home via the Oregon Coast, beginning in Astoria and heading south to Coos Bay. From there, we'll travel inland to Grants Pass before making our way back home.
