August 12–26, 2026
Fifty years ago, Tom and Becky Burgoyne said “I do” — and we have been adventuring together ever since. To celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, we are treating ourselves to something truly special: a 14-night Alaska cruise aboard the Regent Seven Seas Explorer, one of the world’s finest luxury cruise ships.
We depart Sacramento on August 11th, spend the night in Vancouver, and set sail on August 12th from beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. Over the next two weeks, the Explorer will carry us through the legendary Inside Passage, past towering glaciers, into quiet fishing towns carved from old-growth forest, and along coastlines that have changed little since the days of the Tlingit and Haida peoples. We wrap up with a stop in Victoria, BC, before returning to Vancouver on August 26th for the flight home.
Alaska by cruise ship is a completely different experience from our 2009 overland RV adventure through the interior. This trip is about Southeast Alaska — rainforest, fjords, glaciers calving into the sea, bald eagles, and the occasional humpback whale breaching just off the bow.
